Learn about travel health consultations →Flu shots, COVID-19 vaccines and a range of other vaccines are given right here at the pharmacy by a pharmacist. During flu season you can usually walk in without an appointment.

Getting a vaccine at a community pharmacy means you can fit it into a regular errand. At Eastview Pharmacy, a pharmacist gives flu shots and COVID-19 vaccines on site, and we also offer shingles, HPV, tetanus and pneumococcal vaccines as well as most travel vaccines. Flu shots are typically available as a walk-in service during flu season, so you can often stop by on your way home.
Before any vaccine is given, the pharmacist asks a few screening questions, checks that the vaccine is appropriate for you and explains what to expect. Some vaccines are publicly funded in Ontario for people who meet the eligibility rules, others may be covered by a private health plan or paid out of pocket, and some need a prescription first. The pharmacist will tell you which applies to you before anything is given, so there are no surprises at the counter.

Many people plan their yearly flu shot for the fall. If you are eligible for the publicly funded program, bring your Ontario health card.
Shingles and pneumococcal vaccines are often discussed with older adults and people with certain conditions. The pharmacist can review whether they apply to you.
If you are planning a trip, start with a travel health consultation a few weeks before you leave so there is time for any vaccine series.
Here is what to expect at I.D.A. Eastview Pharmacy, step by step.

You are asked to stay nearby for a short observation period, usually about 15 minutes, before heading home.
